Prior to this, we had been successfully running The Badminton Shop for three years, during which we noticed a key challenge faced by our customers: the desire to try out products before making a purchase. This sparked the innovative idea behind the Li-Ning Superstore.
At Li-Ning Superstore, we’ve taken the concept of try before you buy to the next level. Each of our stores features a full-fledged badminton court with a towering 30-foot-high roof, allowing customers to test every product—from rackets and shoes to strings and accessories—under real conditions before making their choice. Our Story
Our journey toward creating the Li-Ning Superstore began with a simple yet powerful observation. Back at The Badminton Shop, where we sold a wide range of badminton rackets, we encountered a recurring issue: many of our customers were unhappy with the rackets they purchased. Despite our passion and integrity in helping them choose the best gear, some would return, disappointed, saying the racket didn’t feel right or wasn’t suited to their playing style. Others would ask if they could try a racket for a few days before committing to a purchase. Watching our customers struggle with their selections was disheartening for us, and we knew there had to be a better way.
That’s when inspiration struck—what if we had a badminton court right inside the store? What if customers could try out rackets before buying, ensuring that every choice they made was with full confidence? This concept of “try before you buy” was born out of a desire to give our customers the best possible experience, where they never have to second-guess their decision.
In 2019, when we met Mr. Kapoor, the distributor of Li-Ning from Sunlight Sports, we shared this vision with him. He was just as excited as we were to bring something completely new to the world of badminton retail. His support was instrumental, and together we brought the Li-Ning Superstore to life—a collaboration between The Badminton Shop and Sunlight Sports, driven by a shared dream to revolutionize the industry.
Today, with full-fledged badminton courts in all of our stores, customers can test every racket, shoe, and string, making their selections with confidence and precision. The Li-Ning Superstore is more than just a store—it’s the realization of a dream project built on teamwork, passion, and innovation.
